MEETING MINUTES
APRIL 11, 2006
Auditorium, Trottier Middle School
Present: William Christensen, Chairman; Roger Challen; Bonnie Phaneuf; Janice Conlin, Town Administrator.
The meeting was called to order in open session at 11:45 p.m. The purpose of the meeting was to vote the ballot questions for the Annual Town Election. The Board voted unanimously for the following four ballot questions.
BALLOT QUESTION #1
Shall the Town of Southborough be allowed to assess an additional $228,327 in real estate and personal property taxes for the purpose of funding the Southborough portion of the FY2007 operating budget of the Algonquin Regional High School, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006?
Said question shall be deemed approved if a majority of the persons voting thereon shall vote “yes”.
BALLOT QUESTION #2
Shall the Town of Southborough be allowed to exempt from the provisions of proposition two and one-half, so-called, the amount required to pay for the bond issued for renovations at the Margaret Neary Elementary School?
And provided, further, that said question shall be deemed approved if a majority of the persons voting thereon shall vote “yes”.
BALLOT QUESTION #3
Shall the Town of Southborough be allowed to assess an additional $110,000 in real estate and personal property taxes for the purpose of repairing and maintaining Fayville Village Hall [42 Central Street] and to demolish the building known as the Delarda House [40 Central Street] for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006?
And provided, further, that said question shall be deemed approved if a majority of the persons voting thereon shall vote “yes”.
BALLOT QUESTION #4
Shall the Town of Southborough be allowed to assess an additional $130,637 in real estate and personal property taxes for the purpose of funding the following projects for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006?
ADA – Woodward School [Americans with Disabilities Act] $30,074
Install drainage system in rear – Woodward $22,000
Replace HVAC unit – Woodward $12,000
Seal tile floors at Finn [$41,590] and Trottier [$15,758] $57,348
Upgrade energy management system [Finn] $ 9,215
And provided, further, that said question shall be deemed approved if a majority of the persons voting thereon shall vote “yes”.
The meeting adjourned at 11.50 p.m.
