Site Finder Service

MassEcon's statewide Site Finder Service is an economic development resource for companies seeking a Massachusetts location within which to expand or relocate. MassEcon works cooperatively with real estate brokers, site location consultants, and state, regional, and local economic development officials to enable companies and their exclusive agents to access property information that matches their real estate needs. The service covers all regions of the state and serves a broad range of industry sectors.

Research and Information Service

The Research and Information Service assists companies in conducting research about Massachusetts during the site selection process. Companies can use the service to answer questions about demographics, incentives, workforce, education, industry sectors, or related matters that are relevant to the location or expansion of their business. The service is particularly useful when companies are comparing Massachusetts to other states. Not only data-based, the service also helps link companies with the people and resources on the state, regional, and local levels.

The Massachusetts Small Business Development Center Network's Central Regional Office is located on the campus of Clark University and provides free and confidential one-to-one management advice and technical assistance to prospective and existing small businesses.

Business advisors will assist clients in developing business plans, marketing plans, financials, cash flows, and other areas. Will also act as a common access point for financing, and upon evaluation by our staff, can recommend or even introduce owners to the appropriate federal, state, or local financing sources. We also work actively with local banks and the SBA, especially when SBA loan guarantees may be required to finance the venture or expansion. Our clientele includes start-ups, early-stage, expanding, and troubled businesses.

Massachusetts SCORE

The SCORE Association "Counselors to America's Small Business" is a nonprofit association comprised of 13,000+ volunteer business counselors throughout the U.S. and its territories. SCORE members are trained to serve as counselors advisors and mentors to aspiring entrepreneurs and business owners. These services are offered at no fee, as a community service.

Women's Business Centers represent a national network of nearly 100 educational centers throughout the United States and its territories, which are designed to assist women in starting and growing small businesses. WBCs seek to "level the playing field" for women entrepreneurs, who still face unique obstacles in the business world.

SBA's Office of Women's Business Ownership (OWBO) oversees the WBC network, which provides entrepreneurs (especially women who are economically or socially disadvantaged) comprehensive training and counseling on a variety of topics in several languages.
