Main Street Gazebo

Gazebo

When the Town moved its Public Safety departments from Main Street to Cordaville Road, the site of the former Police and Fire Stations was transferred to St. Mark’s School, as part of a larger property transaction that was funded in part by Town Meeting.  That also included the gazebo that sits in the front of the property, which was a gift to the Town from the Peter’s School Alumni in 1986. St. Mark’s has no plans for the gazebo, and is willing to allow the Town to facilitate the moving of the gazebo as soon as possible.

At their May 23, 2023 meeting, the Select Board unanimously agreed that it has no interest in assuming the responsibility for moving and maintaining the 37-year-old structure.  But before that message is delivered to St. Mark’s School, the Board wanted to do some outreach to see if there was anyone who wanted the gazebo.  The Town’s Building Commissioner, Casey Burlingame, inspected the gazebo and said that it is in fairly good shape for its age.  The decking, ceiling, and structural members are generally in good condition, but the asphalt shingles will need to be replaced in the next 1-3 years.  The foundation is fairly substantial and would not be able to be moved.

If you are interested in acquiring the gazebo, please call (508) 485-0710 or email the Select Board office.  Any interested parties will be connected with St. Mark’s School to help facilitate the transaction
