FIRE CHIEF SCREENING COMMITTEE
The Fire Chief Screening Committee shall be made up of five (5) members, all appointed by the Board of Selectmen, as follows: Three (3) residents of the Town of Southborough; current Southborough Chief of Police; one (1) public safety official from a neighboring community.
The primary charge of the Fire Chief Screening Committee is as follows:
Work with the consultant, recommended by the Town Administrator and contracted by the Board of Selectmen, to advertise the Fire Chief position, and prepare recruitment materials;
Review applications, and determine pool of applicants for interviews;
Conduct first and second round of interviews to determine semi-finalists. Number of semi-finalists to be limited to a maximum of five (5) to participate in the assessment center;
Provide a final report to the Board of Selectmen on the committee actions and names of the semi-finalists forwarded for assessment center.
The Fire Chief Screening Committee shall be appointed in October 2018, and shall perform the work as detailed in the charge on or before February 1, 2019. Committee members shall be discharged upon selection of the semi-finalist candidates.
