Public Safety Building Naming Sub-committee

PSB NAMING SUBCOMMITTEE
THE PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING (PSB) NAMING SUBCOMMITTEE SHALL BE MADE UP OF SIX (6) MEMBERS, ALL APPOINTED BY THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN, AS FOLLOWS: FOUR (4) MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING COMMITTEE; ONE (1) MEMBER OF THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN; AND ONE (1) SOUTHBOROUGH EMPLOYEE, WHO SHALL ACT IN AN EX-OFFICIO CAPACITY.

CHARGE
THE PRIMARY CHARGE OF THE PSB NAMING SUBCOMMITTEE IS AS FOLLOWS:
THE PSB SUBCOMMITTEE SHALL PROVIDE THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN A LIST OF NO MORE THAN THREE (3) NAMES FOR EACH OF THE FOLLOWING SPACES WITHIN THE NEWLY-CONSTRUCTED PUBLIC SAFETY BUILDING:

1. THE PUBLIC SAFETY TRAINING ROOM
2. THE DISPATCH/COMMUNICATIONS CENTER
3. THE FIRE TRAINING TOWER

THE PROCESS USED TO DEVELOP THE LIST OF NAMES SHALL CONFORM TO THE PROCESS AS SET FORTH IN THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN’S “POLICY ON NAMING TOWN FACILITIES AND DEDICATIONS”, APPROVED BY THE BOARD ON JUNE 14, 2017, AND HEREBY INCORPORATED BY REFERENCE.

SCHEDULE
THE PSB NAMING COMMITTEE SHALL BE APPOINTED IN NOVEMBER 2019, AND SHALL PROVIDE A REPORT ON THEIR RECOMMENDATIONS WITHIN 60 DAYS OF THEIR APPOINTMENT. SAID APPOINTMENTS SHALL EXPIRE UPON DELIVERY OF THE RECOMMENDATIONS TO THE BOARD OF SELECTMEN.
