What do you think teens in Southborough need?
Would you like to see a change in your community?
Do you feel like something needs to be added to the town for kids?
If you're in middle school and would like to share your thoughts on these questions, then consider participating in the Southborough Middle School Youth Council!
The Southborough Middle School Youth Council (SMYC) is an opportunity for Southborough youth to get together to discuss challenges, develop and plan events for youth in the community, make changes, and be a voice for fellow students. In talking with middle school students about the SMYC, many ideas were generated for projects to start with such as creating bike lanes in the community, having fun activities to attend after a half day at school, and fundraising for a variety of causes.
SMYC meetings will be scheduled one at a time, so if you are unable to make a meeting, you will have the opportunity to weigh in on the scheduling of the next one to a time that works better for you. We want many voices to be heard, so we will be scheduling meetings based on what works for most each time.
The next Youth Council meeting will be held at Trottier on Thursday, February 15th from 2:30-3:50pm. If you have not RSVP'd yet and plan to attend, please contact Meaghan (McCarthy) Eiland at firstname.lastname@example.org or email@example.com
